Engadine Airport
WEF Davos 2026
On 16 January and from 19 to 25 January 2026, the airspace around Davos will be restricted within a radius of 25 NM (LS-R90) due to the World Economic Forum WEF 2026.
During this period, flight plans are mandatory for VFR flights within the restricted area. In addition, PPR is mandatory for Y/Z flight plans to/from LSZS. For detailed information, please refer to the documents Briefing WEF 2026 IFR and AIP-SUP WEF 008/2025 (see links below).
PPR requests are processed by Engadin Airport. Please send the completed PPR Request/Confirmation form (last page of the briefing) together with the handling request to our handling office at handling@engadin-airport.ch.
The PPR number provided with the confirmation must be entered in field 18 of the flight plan. Please note that in addition to the above information, the official publications (AIP, VFR, SUP, NOTAMs) are also binding.
If you have any questions or require clarification, our handling team will be happy to assist you.

Additional Information
(These regulations apply exclusively to ‘pure’ VFR flights and not to IFR flights with VFR joining/leaving.)
Pattern flights at LSZS
For pattern flights at Samedan Airport (LSZS), the SSR code 1666 must be used. A separate report to the Air Force PPR office is not required for this. Radio contact with MIL RADAR is also not necessary. No ICAO flight plan is required for these flights.
Training flights
According to VFR SUP, a flight instructor (FI) must be on board for training flights. Solo flights by flight students are not permitted.
VFR flights in the region (e.g. scenic flights)
VFR flights within the region must be applied for at the PPR office. Both the aircraft and the pilot must be accredited in accordance with VFR SUP. Where possible, radio contact must be established with MIL RADAR.
VFR flights to/from LSZS on published routes
These flights are subject to accreditation, authorisation and ICAO flight plan requirements in accordance with VFR SUP.
Note on PPR authorisations
A PPR number issued for Samedan (LSZS) does not automatically constitute authorisation to fly the LS-R 90. These are two separate authorisations.
